Toronto Family Photographer // Newborn Session at Home

Jimmy and Vicky got married a few years ago at the Doctor’s House. We got to document their engagement session and then their wedding. Fast forward to last fall, they contacted us about shooting their maternity session. Baby Harper came early and we could not be happier at how this session turned out. Enjoy the sneak peek photos below. As a Toronto family photographer, we are loving this nursery setup that the parents made.

I always admired how parents decorated and filled in their baby’s room. I am particularly in awe at how creative Jimmy and Vicky are in painting the walls. If you notice, the wall around the windows is painted light grey while the ones by the crib and the changing table are painted light pink. Being in the nursery room, these walls gave you a great dimension. I first thought it was just an accent wall feature but the colours gave you more depth in the given space. I am totally stealing this idea for one of our bedrooms in our home now! (Sorry, Vicky! ;))

I remember being shocked at how small Harper is in the following image. We started with photos of Vicky and Harper that morning. So when I called Jimmy in and he took over, Harper looked a lot smaller in his hands. But looking back to these photos, this is the reason why we love newborn session so much! Babies change every day, they grow every day. Within a couple weeks, they don’t fit in the same clothing anymore. And capturing these moments, putting them in time capsules, we know these will be treasured by the parents.

Loki was worried that his babysister was fussing from too much work being the model of the day! 😀

And last but not least, the following photos are a couple of my favourites. They remind me that this opportunity came because Jimmy and Vicky trusted us to photograph their wedding a few years ago. Thank you Jimmy and Vicky for trusting us again documenting this new milestone!
