R.C. Harris Engagement Photos: Toronto Art Deco

Kayla and James met on Tinder and at the end of their coffee date, James shaked Kayla’s hand and said ” I was interviewing you to be my girlfriend”. Love how cheeky these two are and during our engagement session, we got to see how these two are so meant to be together. Enjoy this R.C. James knew she was the one as they felt comfortable in each other’s families and realized they valued the same things and have strong relationships with their families. They are looking forward to this September when they can celebrate with their families and loved ones. We are looking forward to documenting these moments and their important people at Lasalle.

We went to Scarborough Bluff on a sunny fall day last year. It had been so cloudy (and rainy) the week before that we got too excited in scheduling their session. It was an hour too early so we don’t lose the golden lights due to the heavy clouds! But lo and behold, the sun came out and shone the whole time we were shooting! They were gracious enough as we moved between locations to capture the best light that evening. All in all, we got to stop at RC Harris and shot some art deco/architectural portraits there. This building has been in so many movies and it still so beautiful from the outside! (We still wonder what the inside looks like!)

For awhile here, we felt that we were transported out of Canada to an island in Greece or Italy! Love how serene these two are and how quiet the park was that evening!

Fun fact, Kayla and James are referred through us through Lisa and Steve. Lisa and Steve got married a few years ago at a venue that was facing Lake Ontario. It seems surreal that years later, we got to shoot Steve’s cousin’s engagement session on the same lake!
