A Glimpse of What’s To Come

So, we went to Montreal last fall. Kevin and I decided to peek on the neighbouring city, Toronto. We loveeee that city!

Well, it wasn’t that simple. The day of our flight from Montreal to Toronto, we missed the last flight of the day so we spent the night in the airport and flew out on the first flight the following morning. We rented a car and headed out to Bloor St and Etobicoke area where Kevin used to live and work before. We didn’t have any plan in the city, we just wanted to spend some time together traveling the world. I thought this is just another city in the world, that I got to visit together with my beloved husband. I thought…

The first view out of the city was the highway and it reminded me so much of Jakarta and how much I missed the city I grew up in. Then, the Toronto city itself, the high rises, the early morning traffic. I still missed Jakarta. Then, we tried to find the house where Kevin used to live in Etobicoke. We passed by big houses and there was this street. A street with big trees and sun rays in between. The trees were multiple colors, the color of fall. The sun ray, was just very pretty. It was a quiet neighbourhood and I remember thinking to myself. If I could find a street similar to this in Vancouver -the feel, the look, the smell – I want to buy a house there and raise our kids.

The next 4 days of our visit was a breeze. The sun was out most of the times. The ROM was amazing and we couldn’t get enough of it. The Jamaican food was unbelievable. The walk around the city was long but unforgettable. The Niagara fall made me cry pondering on how powerful the nature was and imagined the Creator! The Korean food was very authentic and could not be found in Vancouver. All in all, we had a great time and couldn’t wait to come back and spend more time in this city.

Little did we know that an opportunity came and we are now moving to the city of Toronto! In less than 24 hours for Kevin and less than 4 months for me. It hasn’t been easy for us wrapping our lives in Vancouver. Leaving our church behind. Saying “keep in touch, come and visit us!” to our family and friends. Moving some of our belonging across the country. And, most of all, knowing that we are probably not coming back to Vancouver in a short period of time.

But, above these all, we want to honor God’s calling in our lives. At the end of the day, this life is His and we want to be where He wants us to be. We want to do what He has called us to do. And for that, we are beyond excited. Life is short and I really do appreciate our last moments with my family and friend here, in Vancouver. Tomorrow, we will be ready to close this book of our lives and start new. The next journey is not going to be an ordinary one and we can just feel it deep inside our hearts today. 🙂

~ Love,
