Travel Journal: Charlottetown

Hey guys, Jenn here. I promised to write a bit more on Charlotte last week. While compiling my photos from the trip, I realized how boring my trip must be to non-photographer friends. All I did was meeting workshop attendee(s), attending the workshop and then a meeting local photographer! Airport, hotel, workshop location, hotel, a diner and back to the airport! I certainly wish to come back and visit Charleston with Kevin soon. Anyway, I cherish the opportunity to meet, brainstorm, learn and kindle new friendship with these people. It’s an incredible honour to spend time with them! Well, without further ado, here is Charlotte and the amazing people I met through my lens.

This is Jill of Sincerely Jill (soon to be Jill Nicole Photography), my roommate and confidante. On our first day, we talked all business and photography with margarita on the side. Yep, we celebrated early and oh boy, I am so glad we did! So much to celebrate and no time to do so at the end of the trip!

The workshop was held in Leslie’s house. Leslie and Tom worked hard to make us all feel at home. They did a GREAT JOB and I will let you see it yourself! Let’s take a tour of her beautiful home. (Leslie and Tom, thank you for being great and gracious hosts to all of us! Kevin and I are waiting for your confirmation to come and visit us here up north!!)

It’s a shame if we don’t use it for our mock engagement session. Vanessa and her husband modeled for us and Melissa showed us how she ran an engagement session. You can read more about it here including Melissa’s images from the session.

Here are some behind the scene shots. That’s Michelle on the left and I am forever grateful for her role in assisting Melissa during the workshop! She also works in Melissa’s other company, Align Album Design.

Back in the house. The beautiful light is to die for!And some late night editing.

Track back a bit here. The draw of the prizes from the sponsors.

I didn’t believe that I won the Destination I Do prize and Jill took the camera to document the moment.

And we head out for some portraits. Melissa took great head shots of all the attendees, here. Jill and I.

And my crazy lovely Jill whom I miss so much already!

Meeting a local photographer, Christine of Christine Parks Photography. We met from a mutual friend (a long story which one day I might do a post on its own) and I adore her work! You need to check it our yourself here. I really can’t wait to see her go to places with this!

If you are sticking with me this long, thank you!! I have warned you that this could be boring but nonetheless, I need to keep my word from last week. If you are interested in getting to know what MJ2Day is all about, I wrote in a greater detail last week here. I have been recommending Melissa and her workshop to everyone I know because it has changed my life and my business. At the end of the day, it’s an honour to learn from someone who has successfully managed five business-es. I realized that the danger in owning your own business is to be complacent and to stop looking for a better way to run it. Striving to be excellent in every area/aspect of our business and photography is a passion that I hope will stay in all of us.

Share the love,

Jenn
