Photography Tips: How To Bring Your Dog To Your Photoshoot
May 7, 2021
We have been having a lot of dogs in engagement sessions and weddings. There are a few things we asked our couples to prepare and bring to sessions:
1. Tire out your pup
We have family photosession with Croq, our six year old corgi, every year. Year after year, we sent him to his daycare the day before the shoot. This takes most of his energy out. We also arrive at the location at least 30 minutes prior. While Kevin looks for parking, I will bring Croq around to be familiar with the area and to mellow down his excitement (or anxiety for some dogs) of a new place.
2. Bring water and treats
We also bring a small bag that has his water bottle and treats. To get his attention, treats work wonder!
3. Bring a squeaky toy
You know if your dog is not food motivated or easily lose interest to treats. Squeaky toy is another option so that we can get their attention easily on the shoot!
4. Bring/wear a prop
Boy or girl, they look cute in bowtie or tutu! Even better, a shirt that matches your colour scheme 🙂 They’re part of the family.
Share the love,
Jenn and Kevin
