November 2012: Looking Back Through iPhone Photos

Last month, I tried my best to get in touch with my friends who went to the same photography program with me. I find it funny that as you grow older, you need to intentionally keep in touch, intentionally allocate time to keep up with your friends. Friends who are not in your inner circle. Friends you don’t necessarily meet every week or every month or every quarter. Is it just me? I had to actually wrote it down as a goal for November 2012 to keep in touch with these ex-classmates.

They are all doing well and a couple of them mentioned how 2012 has been a great year and it would be hard for 2013 and so forth to beat it. It’s so true! Standing in the last month of 2012, I don’t know how the coming years will beat 2012. Moving province and leaving behind family, friends and all we have known in the last 8 and 10 years, is nerve wrecking. We don’t have any plan to move again in the near future, we love this city and we will stay until there is a sign that says go, again. We don’t really share what made us came to Toronto here on the blog but we always welcome the opportunity to tell people who asked us in person. I am not going to write it out here now either, I have something else to write.

One thing that we experienced since we got to Toronto is that every single step and event leading up to it has always been pre-planned. Not by us. We are believers and we know God has intended us to be here before we even knew this is a possibility. In December 2011, a month before we knew we would actually be moving to Toronto in 2012, everywhere I went, I always encountered the words/confirmation: I go before you. Ben Cantelon’s song, Guardian, had been my theme song of that month with a specific purpose. I was being prepared to not question this move when the time came. On January 31, 2012, somehow all doors in Toronto opened up and we were prepared. We shared the news with our church family and friends in February and all month long, their emails, prayers and phone calls were about God telling them that He has gone before us. Speaking about coincidence? I am a big believer that nothing is a coincidence. On March 31, 2012, Kevin got to Toronto first and every opportunity he encountered had been God-divine-appointment. I came later in the summer and still the same things happened over and over again. Until today, December 1, 2012, He has proven faithful and gone before us, all the time. As crazy as the move was, we were not alone. As challenging and exciting 2012 has been for us, we know 2013 will place us at the edge of the world again and we shall not fear. Because He is faithful and He will go before us. I am excited for the year end and the coming new year, how about you?
