Anniversary Session: Ella + Husin

Ella and I have a long history (of friendship) ourselves. Kevin and Husin are just thrown into the mix because their wives haven’t stopped keeping in touch after 9+ years living in different continents and then reuniting to the same continent. One thing I am still thankful for (and have known that I wouldn’t be able to do it without this girl) is her talent in designs. She was my campaign board designer when I ran for high school president ten some years ago. I ended up winning the second place and became the vice which I still secretly think because of her insights and talents in representing my personality on the board! Since then, I have been her faithful follower in her love and career paths. As of the last few years, she has been crafting her beautiful cake designs in California which works you can find here.

When I say a faithful follower in her love path, I am dead serious about it! I met Husin five years ago. Ella was still living in Indonesia and they met each other through an online design network. Husin was already living in LA finishing his product design degree. Ella convinced me one summer that I needed to accompany her to LA and meet this one guy. On the side note, I had no idea who Husin was and just so you know, he would be picking us up from the airport, drove us around the city for 4 days and was in charge of booking our motel room too. I remember asking Ella of how serious their relationship was, and she gave me the most vague answer ever! But she needed me to go with her or otherwise her family wouldn’t let her travel. So I told her to count me in. Deep in my heart, I knew I should give it a chance because Kevin and I got reconnected in the internet world too before ended up dating and had a great relationship. So, off we went and met Husin in the summer of 2008.

Long story short, I should have known that for one girl to fly over thousands of miles to meet a guy is a serious move! 😉 These two surprised us by getting married a week earlier before our wedding in 2010! I have since then met them again but not with Kevin. We are glad that these two connected well over their trip to Toronto just now. Husin is now in charge of designing a project in hello|inspira and we cannot be any happier to trust our vision to someone we know. These two jumped into the opportunity and packed their wedding attires in 24-hour-notice when I shared with them the vision of this anniversary session. Not to mention that they flew 3,500 kilometres to join us! Kevin and I are thankful for these two to have met each other and be the perfect couple in front of our lenses that day. So here they are reliving their wedding memories in a different continent, three years later.
