A Travel Journal: Chicago in Black and White

When we were still students, we already had the heart of traveling and we would venture out of our daily routine to visit a city or two. Five to six days in each city. We would stay longer but nahhh we said we couldn’t because we were broke. So we stick to six days. We promised to ourselves that one day we would have steady jobs and could come back to stay longer.

Then we graduated from college and started working the steady jobs. We still traveled once in awhile when our work schedules allowed. Four to five days in each city. Sometimes three. We would stay longer but nahhh we said it was enough. We were not broke but work and call of duty had higher priority in our lives. We promised to ourselves one day we would own our own business and travel in longer period of times.

So here we are now, running our own business and could hardly squeeze two days in a row for a travel. Undisturbed by emails and calls of duties. We have learned that our promises to ourselves will always change. Priority will always change. And we choose to enjoy even the one day travel we have after a business meeting or a session. Life is too short to ponder what we can do in the future and not enjoy what is in front of us right now. Here is to here and now!

Very great point. My husband and I can relate to this as we too plan everything for our future but your right things change and we need to learn to enjoy now.
