On a July afternoon, we received a joyful and insightful email from Arundip. He mentioned how impressed he was at our portfolio (a great start of an email relationship with your vendor by the way, always reach out to people whose work you are inspired by!). And he asked if we would kindly consider to photograph Angela’s and his city hall wedding. As a bonus point, he also answered our question with the answer that we’d answer it ourselves: we love simple experiences. These include walks in vibrant city streets, brunches with bottomless coffee, and photos that demonstrate our nerdy side. So this is a post about a Toronto City Hall wedding but you should know that this is going very high on our favourite weddings of the year! On the day of the wedding itself, Angela and Arundip are very trusting on how things should go. We always arranged on meeting with the couple 30 minutes before the ceremony itself. You will be surprised at how different the experience is for meeting your photographers earlier and working with him/her before the exchanging of the vows and rings. Here are their photos in the morning light (if we waited after the ceremony, the light wouldn’t be as great and the courtyard would be full of tourists!)
But when the stars are aligned, The Osgoode Hall was ours during our photosession. Other than the occasional locals and tourists, we had it for ourselves and we had so much fun with the place:
We also had to take a photo of this monument. Arundip and Angela took a picture at this very place in their first date. We actually only walked over to get a CN tower shot as a background, not knowing that we’d encounter this monument on the way back!
