Ivana + Petar // Split Engagement Session, Croatia
Ivana and Petar have always had mutual friends but not until Ivana’s short walk on the beach with her friend that they bumped into each other and they started to hang out. To Ivana, Petar is always decent and caring and that just capture her heart. Throughout our shoot, we had so much fun walking around the Old Split and looking at how these two loving each other in their own way.
In 2010, two years after their first meeting on the beach, Petar asked Ivana out on a date. And to Ivana, every day ever since is like their first date together. They’re engaged in Paris this summer on their fifth anniversary trip (what a sweet tradition!). And they are looking forward to spend their days together, growing old together. They’re just the sweetest and one of the most loving couple we’ve ever met. Seeing them together, joking around, make us feel so lucky to have known them in person. (Note: Petar didn’t even know until one point in the trip that he was going to propose. What a sweet guy! He bought the ring in Paris and during their evening walk, he got down on one knee and asked Ivana to be his wife. The Eiffel tower on the background started to blink once this happened which is a beautiful coincidence to them and everyone who’s watching in the city of love)
We started the session in the early morning in Diocletian’s Palace, it was quiet and peaceful. We had the place for ourselves for awhile and then the first cruise ship arrived and the first hundreds of tourists roamed in.
This is one of our most favourite images we’ve ever created. The love that is shown in Ivana’s eyes… is just indescribable. Ivana called Petar “my sun”. And according to her: He keeps me warm by his goodness and love everyday. I’m looking forward to spend my life with him. Ivana and Petar, thank you for your kindness to us and for trusting us to document this phase of your relationship. We are looking forward to more Croatian morning coffee with you two.
