April 2013 iPhone Photos: Charlotte and Winning – Toronto Wedding Photographer
This is the tenth iPhone post and I have had so much fun doing this in the past ten months. I have enjoyed putting the images together for the post and sometimes searched for these posts to look back on our journey.
Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity of talking to a great photographer whose work I adore. She told me how she has refrained herself from taking her iPhone and camera out to document a few moments in her son’s life. To actually be there and enjoy it with him. I wasn’t ready to hear that. She explained further how she realized by clicking the shutter, the chemical in her body changes from enjoying the moment to ticking mark the checklist of what needs to be documented. I slowly understood what she said. So I talked with Kevin about it that night and refrained myself from taking pictures with my phones for a few days. And just be there. Intentionally be there and enjoy the moments.
It was hard at first. Really hard. I didn’t realize how I have been programmed to pull out my phone or camera to document what’s in front of me. But the effect of it has been amazing. I realized how true her word is. And I have decided to end this iPhone post. June will be the last one for now to round up 12 months mark of this post. I don’t regret compiling my life so far but I think a change will be greatly welcomed too. So here is to the second to last.
Charlotte trip for a workshop, HERE and HERE // During one of our engagement sessions this month, we met Mr. Otter. He was so cute!! Have neer seen one in person and out of a zoo // My high school friend and her hubby came for a visit this month so they stayed at our place and we went to Niagara one weekend // We did try a new restaurant in the neighbourhood, very yummy and they do have glutten free products, Zocalo. Feel the urge to warn you that their coffee/espresso is not that great but their juices are fresh! // Kevin won a lottery and we went to see Toronto FC at 4 degrees celcius! They did win though! 😀 // Speaking of winning, I did win a substantial amount of prize too this month. You can follow my instagram to see.

Awesome iPhone pictures! I love how you are documenting real life as you go! 🙂
Putting away the iPhone sounds rough……!
(I’m an addict)
I’m guilty of this but not ready to stop. I will think about it though because it has a huge amount to truth to it.
Good for you! I think it’s really really great to try and be in the moment, and also to halt our social media and phone habits (addictions?). I speak for myself, of course, but I totally hear ya and I’m trying to do the same!
ahh cool! I just got on the iPhone train (laaaate adopter!)
hey kate and vaughn, thanks for your comments! it hasn’t been easy but i keep reminding myself: one day at a time. 😀
