Amazing Abby
This is an unplanned post as I found out through Katelyn’s blog this morning that one of the photographers that I had followed just passed away last weekend. I learned about Abby almost five years ago from this post by Jamie. She faithfully commented on both Jamie and Katelyn’s blogs and that was how I had kept up with her work and her world. I adored her and her works. In the late 2011, our world was shakenned as we were moving coast to coast (or let’s just say “almost” coast to coast). I am ashamed to say that my shaking ground was nothing compared to hers. During this period of time, I stopped following some bloggers and I had no idea that Abby was battling cancer.
It really startled me that you could be here today and gone tomorrow. Both Kevin and I haven’t experienced many deaths in our lives but we do have relatives and friends battling for their lives. It is unthinkable that Abby who is younger than us is now on her final rest in heaven. I am happy and sad at the same time. I am glad that her fight is over but at the same time, I grief with her loved ones on how another sweet soul is taken away by cancer. I have never met her in person but she was such a sweet girl who would leave encouraging blog comments here and there. At this moment, I want to ask you to spare your 10 minutes and watch the short clip Abby’s brother made in the final moments of her life. She covered some questions on life and how to care for your sick ones. It’s a really good reminder that life cannot be taken for granted…
If you know someone who is battling with cancer or any sickness at the moment, I encourage you to share this link with them.

PS: Here is Abby’s facebook page as her family (and her too) gave a weekly update of her condition leading up to her final week and they are also fundraising to cover her medical expenses.

Wow, that is sooo sad! I didn’t watch the video yet (little one sleeping), but I will be back to watch it ! Prayers to her family!
I have been following her story for a long time too…she was an inspiration!
Wow. What an amazing woman of God. I’m glad to know that she is truly resting in peace <3
I started crying the minute she started speaking. Thank you so much for sharing.
She was such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing her story…
Oh my goodness… what a touching story; it makes you think <3
what a raw and touching story. Thank you for being willing to share and post about things that are hard and sad..in social media we often get in the pattern of only posting about the good and glamorous and we are missing out on the lessons and things we learn during the challenging times. My prayers go out to her family and friends.
